Why bottle bags? Let me explain where the idea came from…
I created these bags in early 2020 after returning from five years of living and travelling abroad. As I explored North and South America and Europe, no matter the country, climate or activity, the one thing I always wanted to have with me was my water bottle - but I never wanted to have to carry it!
I also noticed without an easy way to carry their reusable water bottle, travellers were buying single-use plastic bottles constantly, only to throw them away as soon as they’d finished them, then buy another next time they were thirsty. The average traveller was slurping through 2-3 plastic bottles daily, often in countries with no meaningful recyclable waste program. I don’t need to tell you why that’s not great.
So with my idea waiting, as soon as I returned to New Zealand from my travels and dusted off my sewing machine, I made the first actual bag and Zoe Makes Bags was born.
